IBM websphere mq files are in use. stop activity and retry. (AMQ4757)

Every time I go near IBM's wonderful product I get angry.
Thank god for this post.

For the CSD 11 installer package, use -a to specify parameters which are passed through to amqicsdn.exe:

U200236A.EXE -a MQPINUSEOK=1

Using the unpacked CSD 11 installation, we don't need the -a:

AMQICSDN.EXE MQPINUSEOK=1

You'll then be prompted to reboot when it's finished. Marvelous.

1 Comments:

  • Personally I stop the MQ service, hide the icon in the system tray, and then check the install log file (in your Doc and Settings directory) to find out which file it was complaining about... then use Unlocker to zap whatever process is using it. However, the command switch you mention obviously does the trick, too.
